Fire alarm bus and dedicated linkage control panel

According to the fire alarm security regulatory requirements, the fire linkage controller should have the function of manual control for each controlled device. For some controlled equipment that requires timely operation can be controlled via the bus control panel.

For some important equipment (such as fire pumps, smoke prevention and exhaust fans), manual control panels (multi-line control panels) are required. The start and stop buttons on the control panel should be directly connected to the control boxes (cabinets) of the fire pumps, smoke prevention and exhaust fans using control wires or control cables.

So we'll start with the bus control panel.

The bus control panel provides a convenient operation method for starting and stopping bus (control) devices, which can replace menu operations on the controller. The panel of the bus control is equipped with multiple operation buttons, each corresponding to a start light and a feedback light, respectively used to indicate the button status and display the device operating status.

Each button on the bus control panel can be programmed to control various types, zones, and specific components. This is a very important function. For example, for the smoke control system, the buttons on the bus control panel can be programmed to activate all smoke exhaust outlets (valves) in a certain smoke control zone with one click. It can also be programmed to activate all pressurization air supply outlets in the front room of a certain fire compartment with one click.

A fire alarm controller can be equipped with multiple bus control panels.

Now let's explain the multi-line control panel

According to the regulatory requirements, in addition to using a linkage control method, the control equipment for fire pumps, smoke prevention fans, and smoke exhaust fans should also be equipped with manual direct control devices in the fire security control room.

For this type of equipment, the bus control panel does not meet the requirements and direct manual control needs to be set up.

The deluge valve group, the relevant control valve group of the water curtain system, the pre-action valve group, and the electric valve before the inlet of the quick exhaust valve of the pre-action system should also be able to be directly activated through the direct manual control unit of the fire linkage controller in the fire control room (or duty room), connected via a dedicated line.

Direct manual control panel also known as multi-wire control panel or direct Manual Control Unit.

The start and stop buttons on the direct control panel are directly connected to the control boxes (cabinets) of the fire pumps, smoke prevention fans, and smoke exhaust fans using control wires or control cables. Manual control of on-site equipment can be done by using the buttons on the control panel.

The direct manual control panel is connected to the fire alarm controller and can also be automatically linked for control.

In the pre-action system shown in the figure, the starting device of the pre-action valve group, the electric valve before the inlet of the quick exhaust valve, and the starting cabinet of the fire pump group should be connected to the multi-line control panel of the fire alarm linkage controller through dedicated lines, allowing manual direct control in the fire control room (or duty room).
