The Secondary Code Of Fire Alarm System
The secondary code (also known as the user code or location code) of a fire alarm system is a 6-digit logical address set by the fire host for the equipment, used to identify the floor, zone, or specific location of the equipment, facilitating quick positioning in case of a fire alarm; It is different from the unique physical "primary code" of the device (usually the address numbers 001-242 within the loop). One time code: the unique physical address of the device on the circuit (such as 001-242), written by the encoder, equivalent to an "ID card".
Secondary code: A 6-digit logical code set on the fire control host (such as "050308" which can represent Room 08, Zone 3, 5th floor), used for display and positioning. It is not built-in to the device and needs to be configured on the host or linkage panel. Different brands have different rules (such as the first 2 floors, middle 1 partition, and last 3 digits of the number)
Setting the secondary code cannot be directly operated on the detector/alarm button, and must be done through the following steps:
1. Write a code to the device first (using a dedicated handheld encoder or base dip switch, with a range depending on the fire alarm host, usually 1-242);
2. In the "Equipment Definition" or "Bus Equipment Settings" menu of the fire control host, enter the corresponding circuit and primary code, and manually fill in the 6-digit secondary code;
3. Ensure that the secondary codes of the entire building are not duplicated and are compiled according to the unified rules of the project (such as floor+partition+serial number);
4. After setting up, it is necessary to register/learn device information on the host and switch back to the "monitoring state" to take effect.
